In writing, learning is informed by the reading objectives, so that pupils apply their reading comprehension to their writing skills. This enables our children to write as readers and read as writers. Teachers are supported in writing by a ‘Progression of Writing document’.  This is used as a tool to ensure curriculum objectives are met. The following support documents are included in the document:

  • PTL weekly structure 

  • Linking reading and writing 

  • Recognising greater depth writers 

  • Writing progression by genre 

  • Grammar teaching sequence
