Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
Safeguarding means:
- Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment
- Preventing harm to children’s health or development
- Ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes
Safeguarding is very important to us at Welbourne Primary Academy. Please see our Safeguarding and Child Protection Statement and Safeguarding Policy at the bottom of this page.

Online Safety
The internet can be a scary place and keeping safe online can seem like a constant challenge. Our staff receive regular training and adapt to current trends. We follow the Education for a Connected World framework which gives guidance on how to support our pupils to meet the requirements of an ever changing and challenging online world. It focuses on different aspects of online education: 1. Self-image and Identity 2. Online relationships 3. Online reputation 4. Online bullying 5. Managing online information 6. Health, wellbeing and lifestyle 7. Privacy and security 8. Copyright and ownership.
We teach online safety education as part of the PSHE and Computing curriculum and also ensure we embed this good practice when going online in other lessons.
If you have any questions or need advice please contact Mr Hurford either by leaving a message at the school office or by email office@wel.education
